
Residential Wireman Apprenticeship Program
The Residential Wireman Apprenticeship Program at Tiger Institute of Technology is a rigorous 30-month (2.5-year) training program designed to prepare students for a successful career as a professional residential electrician.
Earn While You Learn with a Career-Focused Electrician Apprenticeship
This program follows the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum and combines paid, real-world job experience with clear growth potential and structured classroom instruction. Apprentices earn while they learn, gaining hands-on experience on the job while building the skills, knowledge, and nationally recognized credentials employers expect.

Program Overview
The apprenticeship blends On-the-Job Learning (OJL) with Related Technical Instruction (RTI) to deliver well-rounded, industry-aligned training.
On-the-Job Learning (OJL)

4,800 hours of supervised, hands-on work experience

Paid apprenticeship experience with opportunities for wage growth as skills and experience increase

Training occurs in residential and limited commercial environments

Apprentices work under experienced journey person electricians

Scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work based on employer needs
Related Technical Instruction (RTI)

433 hours of classroom instruction

Classes held Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Evening schedule allows apprentices to work during the day
RTI coursework covers:

Blueprint reading and schematics

Life Skills & Financial Literacy
Tiger Institute of Technology goes beyond technical training. Apprentices receive instruction in life skills and financial literacy to support long-term career success.

Credentials & Career Outcomes
Upon successful completion of all OJL and RTI requirements, apprentices earn:

Certificate of Completion of Registered Apprenticeship

NCCER Electrical Level Certification
These credentials are nationally recognized and portable, supporting employment opportunities and applicable licensure pathways across the country.
Employer Sponsorship Requirement
Students applying to the Residential Wireman Apprenticeship Program should ideally already be employed by or connected with a sponsoring employer.
